Slideshow icon on/off more visible

When toggling the slideshow with the toolbar icon, the change is very, very slight - the icon itself doesn't change, it just gets a tanslucent bump. I dunno if it's only me, but I can never really tell if the slideshow is active - esp. with long slide times. => Please add a different on/off icon, or...

View->Sort by->Random

There's a reason the "random" option is featured in the slideshow - sometimes you want to browse through images in a non-sequential order. But in slideshow mode, you can only advance on keypress, not go back, and cannot do the usual stuff like copy/move/rate image or any image editing. It would be n...

Just a reminder. I haven't seen any mention of webp in the release notes. 1.0.0 has been out for a few months.
bump - and please don't update to 1.0.0 but to the latest release - which is currently 1.0.1 :->

Add metadata tabs for webp and other file formats

With other file formats than plain ol' jpeg gaining ground, it would be nice to have 'em shiny tabs for the single tag types (IPTC-IIM, XMP, ...) in the "Properties" window as well. Atm it's only the "Exiftool" tab that calls the external exe and takes a while, plus all tags are just crowded in one ...

Re: 0.82: the new "Auto Image Size" in Settings is ignored

Another oddity/bug with this:

1. Open a picture, no matter what the Settings->Auto Image Size is
2. Right Click -> Auto Image Size -> Fit Image to Window
3. Go Full Screen
4. buggy Result: It's "... large only" now :-\
5. Exit Full Screen
6. It's reset to "Fit Image To Window" now :-o

Re: 0.82: the new "Auto Image Size" in Settings is ignored

is it possible to have your xnview.ini? Here you go, I hope you can reproduce it... thanks for looking into it. you have enable 'lock zoom' Thanks, that's it - it's rather hard to spot that it's enabled, at least with my current color scheme.[/quote] Alas, no, that on its own wasn't "it" - but here...

Re: Bring back default "Auto Image Size" option!

Auto Image size setting (in my case "Fit Window size - all pictures") is not saved but only applies when I use it with hotkey. For me, the auto image size option is always automatically reverted to "Fit Window Size - only large pictures) The problem then is, that all smaller pics are displayed with...

Re: [Windows] xnviewmp.exe sticky process after close

What do you mean with "always a running process"? If it's stuck after close (i.e. XnViewMP window is gone), then yes, it's always running at 25% cpu load (4-core system). i means without 'read ahead'? Nope, it seems without read ahead xnviewmp closes just fine. Alas, I didn't try it a 1000 times so...

Re: FLIF file format support for MP

This format has great potential, afaik it beats every other format in every aspect. Not quite, the author himself states that other formats are better for lossy photo compression than lossy flif. The advantage of flif ist great 100% lossless mode, no generation loss when lossy, and it doesn't care ...

do you use 'read ahead'? Yes, absolutely. I can try to disable it and see if it still hangs though, even if's tricky to tell as it occurs only so often. always a running process? not sure if it was worth the effort though. :? i guess no. It's definitely worth the effort if you share the binary with us :-) - thanks! ... ... and attach the patch from the vanilla bpg source to your version which accepts updates x265/jctvc. You could put a pull request on the bpg site, but I gu...

Re: Is XnView (or XnView MP) intended for video viewing?

Am I supposed to be downloading some sort of plugin or addon in order to utilize this feature and to enable thumbnails for these file formats? Unless you're desperate to use XnView for video, don't bother. There are much more advanced and free video players like PotPlayer out there - and crucially,...
