Re: Recognize MP4 as being MPEG

Right, so far as that goes. Happens I was using a Mac @ home when Apple introduced their MPEG4 video format. I found it peculiar, and a mite harsh, that they based it in MPEG2 and then turned around and put a price-tag on the MPEG2 plug-in for QuickTime Player Pro. To add insult to injury, the only ...

Re: Read Comic Book Archive file + Usefull Navigation Toolba

.cbz files should already go -- just change/add a .zip extension. XnView has fairly good luck with viewing the contents of those, either on its own or via 7-Zip's "Open outside" context-menu command. With the latter, you can "pass" .cb7's to XnView with the same file name change. From where I sit, u...

Re: thumbnails cache

idea add option to define cache folder by folder ex: define cache in \\ordi\share\ if browse \\ordi\share\pictures\* (cache with database relative link) and set if cache is read only/can write This certainly would make the deletion/removal of cache files easier, both inside and outside XnView. I wa...

Browser: Are folder names still "missing" in 0.35?

If so, I'll wait for the next build before upgrading. The clear area here (not shaded in red) should show what I mean by "missing": http://s3.postimage.org/1nsvsqev8/xnviewmpwin32_hilit_no_folder_labels.jpg This shows the parent folder of my Win XP SP3 boot drive, with only two more tree branches cl...

Re: Let's finally bring...

But here it's a screenshot of XnView 1.97 not XnViewMP? Okay. It's taken me nearly a year to reply. XnViewMP 0.34 Win32's browser: http://s3.postimage.org/1nsxg9rd0/xnviewmpwin32_hilit_thumb_prvw_xmp.jpg And where "Properties" would be in the Edit menu of XnView 1.97, XnViewMP 0.34 Win32 has "Set c...

Re: v1.97 IPTC entries not found by windows

Now Exiftool in its original (?! - perhaps slightly tweaked) state is the EXIF/IPTC "engine" behind XnViewMP. Just an observation. I'm personally more partial to Andreas Huggel's EXIV2 , but I suppose there were something on the order of 57 ways to adapt the former to Pierre's uses -- or he was mor...

Re: Suggestions re present & future development of MP

PS: An other alternative is also to use Wine under Linux with XnView 1.9X (or similar tools) in the meantime. I've considered Wine for different things. Just my poor luck the boot disk in my Linux laptop just doesn't have the space for "it" and any apps or utilities I'd want to install to use in "i...

Re: Load/Save slideshow list to a text file?

xnview wrote:So you would like that if you don't select files or folder, slideshow dialog show last files used??
That's it. While XnView is running, it should "remember" the last folder or list "played" in Slideshow and display it when the Slideshow dialog is asked for again.

Suggestions re present & future development of MP

I'm a little disappointed when, on downloading and running a Linux build of XnViewMP, I see how many menu items are greyed out or missing, full-stop, when compared to the Windows-native version. I'm also embarrassed that I may be guilty of contradicting myself with this suggestion, but here goes, an...

Okay. So I've seen asmuch. Any plans to make the one (Win32 native) look more like the other (MP on all plats)?

Re: Load/Save slideshow list to a text file?

I don't often start my Slideshows from the Browser. Most of the time I use Slideshow simply to view a specific folder. I choose the folder directly from the "Browse for Folder" dialog that appears when one clicks the "Add Folder" button in the Tools>Slide Show window, then view the contents. I don't...

Removing 1 program from the "Open With" submenu -- possible?

Hi. I just added an application to that list and, since this particular application does no more on launch than display its primary window, I'd like to remove it from the list. I've yet to take a look in xnview.ini, though I think I'm on the right track in doing so. Perhaps in a future version the "...

Suggestion re versions\builds & this subforum

I don't know if Pierre already has it anywhere -- I did a search but wasn't too keen on advancing past the first page of results. A sticky to clarify, even if in the most general terms, which Linux builds "go with" (iow are best likely to work in) a certain distribution or group of kernels. In the s...
