Checkerboard Options

In the settings we have the option to use/not use the checkerboard for transparent backgrounds in the View window. But I would like to have the checkerboard in the View window, but NO checkerboard in the Preview Panel (which I keep below the tree on the left). This way I could see it with and withou...

Re: Favorites panel is blank on startup

Pierre, I haven't updated to the latest version yet (I'm doing it now), but I haven't had this problem in some time, probably due to some of those tweaks. I run multiple instances as a matter of course (so I can have the viewer open to different folders). I'm just reporting this in case it helps. I ...

Re: JPEG. Can't open .jpeg files

Well, there are two extensions for jpeg files, you know: .jpg and .jpeg - they can come with either one. I set both of them to XnView.

Re: JPEG. Can't open .jpeg files

It sounds to me like the .jpeg file extension is not associated with XnView.

Re: Auto-save after Edit in View Mode

I think I've figured out what is happening. When you change between browser and view mode and then rotate the picture, and then switch back to browser mode, it doesn't autosave. The tab stays open (in the background, if your tabs are hidden like mine) without doing anything. Then, when you advance t...

Re: Lower Case ext in File Replace Dialogue

Pierre, Well, shoot! Now I can't either... Yesterday I could do it over and over and over. Now I can't. I've tried over and over and over now, and can't do it. Okay, now I'm beginning to think they were uppercase to start with... (looks back over photograph jpgs...) Doh! Okay, okay, I'm an idiot. AL...

Re: Can't Open File

I wrote a autohotkey script to set all the dates to the current date. If anyone wants this, you can get it from my github.
It will successfully unbork any borked images.

Re: Can't Open File

That's it! I did the same test. I used FC and changed the Created and Modified dates - which were what got borked - I believe from the drag-n-drop process between FreeCommander and XnView MP (in my other thread). Obviously, 1899 is not a valid date. When I changed them to today's date, voila! XVI32 ...

Re: Can't Open File

Well, I did it again. I exported an image as png from photoshop. Then, from my file browser, I *moved* it into MP. Borked. Then I did it again. Then I tried moving the file into MP from Explorer instead of FreeCommander and it didn't bork. Maybe I should open a thread in FreeCommander. Maybe somethi...

Re: Can't Open File

Alright, so here is a collection of borked images in a zip file. http://www.sspxusa.org/temp/borkedimages.zip Now, these are also borked in Classic XnView, and unreadable by XVI32. However, FreeCommander can view it in its own hex editor. FreeCommander can't view the image though, although it can wi...

Re: Can't Open File

Okay, I still have the two files I attached above. I put them in a directory using a file explorer and have not opened them ever with MP. Again, I can't open them with AptDiff 1.6 - "the parameter is incorrect" - forever. Now, on my machine, the file named borked.jpg can be opened with XVI, but good...

Lower Case ext in File Replace Dialogue

When you rename a file that already exists, you get the file replace dialogue afterward.
Is there a setting to make the default for the extension to be lower case? Right now the default is uppercase and I have to change it every time.
