Hum?

No reaction ?
It is a very convenient feature for digital photographers, though (BreezeBrowser, iMatch, etc... have implemented it). And my guess is that it will become a more and more popular feature...

Check that one

In addition to making an excellent Editing software (Picture Window Pro), Jonathan Sachs has written some excellent White Papers. Check this one about Resampling methods (PDF).

If I grab separator between folder tree and preview panes and drag it, it leaves behind a trail of partially drawn scroolbars and mix of screen content from both panes, which disapperars when dragging is stopped. I have the same behaviour, but only if a picture is in Preview AND the size of this pi...

Same here

Same little bug here with .mpg and .avi (I don't have other format to test, right now).
Step [5] is not necessary, as just selecting a video file, opening options and "OK" will start the preview of the video.

Separate items

I much prefer the separate items in the interpreter, for flexibility. People would be able to use <Date Taken [B, d, YYYY]> to get "January, 10, 2005" if they want to. And keeping those separate items optional (ie: if you only use <Date Taken> you get the usual "2005-01-10_14-01-31") will not make t...

Re: Suggestion for Selection Ratio

But for example, orientation is portrait. I want to make selection of 3:2 ratio, i must change orientation, and then choose the ratio! Right... When you start from Default (ie: Ratio=Free + "Use image's orientation") and would like to use a fixed Ratio oriented at 90° to the image (such as in your ...

[OK] Batch Rename-Date formats and unique incremental index

The only date format in the batch rename feature seems to be: YYYY-MM-DD_HH-MN-SS (ex: 2005-01-09_23-43-13) Is it possible to implement a more flexible format ? I use the "20050109_234313" style to rename all my pictures accordingly to the EXIF and keep this as an index in all versions of a picture ...

Re: More tests... and everything is back to normal

Perhaps a problem in the DB files???? Maybe... In the Options>Browser>Cache, I did a "remove all" and then changed the Cache directory soon after installation, several days ago - I did not notice any issue at that time but... maybe the problem was already there, and moving the files solved it ? Not...

Re: Suggestion for Selection Ratio

I like the idea of "Follow image orientation", but by using such menu you must choose orientation and after ratio. I like the one click... How can make this menu more clearly?? You don't necessarily need to choose Orientation first: You may just show 1 fixed list all the time (as: 1:1; 2:1; 3:2; 4:...

IPTC data are metadata that are added "along" the image and embedded in the file. It shouldn't affect the image part at all... Just to be quite sure :D , I used imagemagick "identify -verbose" to check that the Signature (ie: checksum) of the image was the same before and after IPTC creation/edition...

Agreed, except one thing :)

...so I suggest to use "ISO Letter (A4, A3, ...)". It would be better to avoid the word "Letter" here... as "US Letter" is also known as simply "Letter" => "ISO Letter" would be more confusing for US people, I guess. As interim solution I suggest to use "Cinema 1 and Cinema 2", see below. OK. Olivier

Re: Suggestion for Selection Ratio

In Germany we say "DIN A4", for example, is it "ISO A4" in other countries? In France, we just say "A4" (or "feuille A4", "format A4"). I know that the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has created the ISO-216 standard based on the work by the Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN)...

Re: Suggestion for Selection Ratio

Think most people know that normal photographs are 3:2, but I doubt that they know that the ratio is 1.50. So they look for 3:2, not for 1.50 in the list of ratios. But I'm not so sure about this one. You are quite right. Small things: - "ISO (A4, A3...)" above "US Letter", please  - I wou...
