I think I've got it!

WindowsXP ever shows the file name as first entry of the context menu.
So the file name under the small image is obsolete and that was the reason for my request.

But Windows 2000 has a different context menu, without the file name as first entry.

There was a very fine version between 1.31 and 1.4x which worked well! The filename was shown as the first entry in context menu and not under the picture - exactly like I'd requested it. It's not me who add filename in the first entry of context menu :-) Yes, I know - it's Windows standard, it's g...

The filename missing is either a bug or new feature not sure yet. The lack of a change log is annoying I must admit. I think it's a bug ... In older versions of ShellExView the file name was shown under the image *AND* as first entry of the context menu. That fact made me write this request . Pierr...

It could be build-in, as a new entry in Options -> Browser -> Thumbnail -> Appearance . The caption of the CheckBox could be: Embedded thumbnail (if ava...

... then you have it in your clipboard and can paste it into a graphics application of your choice.
For a small upload size you have to save it as JPEG or PNG file.

how does it work? i downloaded jhead.exe but if i doubleclick on it nothing happens The question is: "What do you want to do with your JPEG image(s)?" JHead is a command line program, so doubleclicking on it won't help. Please read the command line options and you'll find many many functions.
