remember folder on 'back'

When I enter a subfolder or a link, and press back, I don't want to have the 1st file selected again. I want the subfolder or link I followed before.

How does this work?

"C:\Program Files\XnView\xnview.exe" -Ini C:\two\xnview.ini

I can't get it to load a specific profile no matter how I change the switch.

I hope you're not suggesting xnview can or should become a full editor like LR, DxO, C1, etc?
There's a reason they're 100MB+ and 'NR' isn't some simple thing you can follow a textbook and implement. I don't think time should be wasted trying to replace PS.

I hope MP doesn't mean it will be dumbed down to the lowest level OS. Both Win and Mac have useful UI features lacking in Linux which would be very sad to lose.

the actual .lnk can show, but if you have a FOLDER containing only shortcuts which point to images, it shows as empty which is really bad cuz my folders contain subfolders for raw/jpg/tif and I just put some shortcuts which point to images, so that explorer shows some thumbnails. which it does, but ...
