Thanks for all the info, but I think I rushed in and changed something I should not have, because now some of my folders that I had associated custom icons for,now a just manilla folders! This probably is because I changed the "items to be displayed" I have to admit this is an option that I do not ...

:-) Hi HandsOff! Okay, i looked it up : Splat! frames are actually Paint Shop Pro Picture Tube files whose extensions have been changed to RFR. A Picture Tube (.TUB/.PspTube), in turn, is a specially layed out .PSP/.PspImage file. This means: RFR = PSP. Is there a "Application"="Photoshop.exe" entry...

I know that the 'Windows' way is not good... but there must be a tool that deals with that conveniently!!! I tried Fast Explorer 2006 , but I couldn't find a way to group filetypes in order to handle them quickly... Might it be what "classes" are for? Some other tools to do that? File Type Manager ...

I doubt the file is corrupt, because I had no problem opening & reading it with these apps:
  • Canvas 9.04
  • Paint Shop Pro 8.10
  • Photo-Paint 11
  • Photoshop 6.01
