IIRC descriptions are stored in seperate "descript.ion" files in the same directory. "Comments" are stored inside the pictures.
Lostclown beat me to it.

Tried the latest version and it seems to work better now. One minor thing though: you can't right-click 2 files directly after oneanother. You first have to left-click the 2nd file and then you can right-click it to get the context menu. It works that way for non-picture files, but not for supported...

Re: Media Preview: Muting and Size issues
One last thing: It's kinda strange that you only get a stillscreen preview for media files in thumbail mode. Isn't it possible to get a stillscreen in the preview area, if you disabled playing video files? Just seems logical to me. Sorry i don't understand. Stillscreen preview?? You don't want play...

Re: Media Preview: Muting and Size issues
If you preview media files, and decide to mute them, the setting is not retained (like, if you watch a muted video preview, and then select a different video file the icon still displays the crossed out speaker but the sound is actually playing). It would be nice, if the muted status would be a per...

Ok, thanks for your suggestion Thank you, too. But that suggestion wasn't even this threads primary intend. So i'd like to know if sometime in the future i can expect you people to do something about the stuff i mentioned in my very first post in this thread. If you don't, that's fine. I'd just lik...

The best thing about XNView is that it's free (for personal use) and knows a whole bunch of filetypes (reading as well as writing). For a long time ACDSee user like me though the interface, operation and the settings of the program are still somehow strange and not too intuitively IMHO. Just my 2cen...

I don't like your tone. You're right about the first frame of video's being black, however it would be difficult for Pierre to know which frame to use as a thumbnail instead even if it were random theres still a chance it would be black. I was just answering your remark about me not being patient, ...

Patience, sometimes it takes time before you get a response. Yeah well, my last reply in here was on September 4th. So i think i am patient. But while we're at it: it would also make more sense if the thumbnail preview for video files would not display the first (key)frame, but some frame inside th...

Re: Folder Descriptions
With that being said, as an old ACDSee user i'd like to request a little feature: In ACDSee i was able to add a description for directories, too (those descript.ion files, you know?). With XNView i can only add those descriptions to files - or at least my folder descriptions from ACDSee are not sho...

Re: Media Preview
[*] If the preview area is too small, the video controls get covered up. Maybe the controls shouldn't be centered below the preview area but left aligned, so you're always able to reach the start and stop buttons. Either that or put the basic controls in the middle.[/list] I agree. I've got small p...

Media Preview: Muting and Size issues
There are a few minor suggestions/problems i'd like to report considering media files: If you preview media files, and decide to mute them, the setting is not retained (like, if you watch a muted video preview, and then select a different video file the icon still displays the crossed out speaker bu...
