I think you just described FastPictureViewer: http://www.fastpictureviewer.com/ It doesn't have any sort of browsing or thumbnails, but its straightforward and damn fast. Thanks a lot for the info. I had never heard of it. it looks extremely capable and highly optimized (gpu extensions support, mul...

Yeah I must say I'm simply baffled by picasa viewer speed. navigating a huge folder of very hig-res images just feels like real time. while keeping the arrow key pressed (keyboard repeat rate is around 25/s) I'm actually able to preview high-res film image sequences in real time (no drops, no flicke...

Great. Do you think that fix will include some sort of faster skipping method ? or faster display methods. when looking at the way xnviewMP reacts when skipping through images, somehow I Have the impression it tries to finishes any initiated reads before making another one. this is probably just an ...

Hello, Will be fixed, see here: http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?t=16250&highlight=crash+vista I doubt this is in any way related: 1. the issue Larry is reporting is related to xnview not xnviewMP! 2.he is experiencing freezes and not crashes, and as soon as trying to view the next image w...

You speak about "STANDARD", but when I go to your rich personnal webpage, I don't see any trace of standard, only orignalities... maybe, but still ... you can navigate (prev/next media) with the mousewheel in it. hehehe  I must say I can only be proud of that webpage, if for one thing, it ...

But please stop analyzing and evaluating the forum users am I analysing forum users ? I'll try to clear things up one more time, I'm in no way speaking for any "majority". I have absolutely no intention to analayse nor judge anyone in this forum, I was simply very spontaneously laughing at your pol...

"the 20 poor people hanging on this forum..." this is at least, not very subtle in human terms anyway. never heard of self-derision ? .. do I have to apologies twice for my unfortunate expression ? .. or, wait a minut, maybe i've hit something, maybe some people in this forum are indeed feeling poo...

Please accept my apologies for the little misunderstanding we have here (English is definitively not my first language, but self-derision certainly is!) In case you didn't notice I'm myself part of that "20 poor users" and it's not the user that I though was poor, it's the number. yet, I don't under...

So both zooming and navigating could be a "right" choice for XnView. The question is: What would the user expect? I though my little "investigation" made the point enough. All similar application leave no doubt as which is the default keyboard and mouse behavior they are sharing. from my experience...

I don't know yet if batch rename + batch convert + contact sheet is more important than image processing in view mode... (i means as first things to develop) Pierre, with xnview you're having an extremely promising and attractive image viewer/browser. Congrats again for the wonderful work ! If you ...

and on that front I would like to cast my vote for xnview to adopt this behaviour by default (wheel = prev/next & ctrl+ wheel = zoom). I see no reason why xnview would not conform to what seems to be a common standard in any graphic application these days. see here: http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewt...
