Re: What happened to the adaptive palette?
Yep, Corel's convesion is quite nice specially taking into account it's only 16c (4bpp) as opposed as original poster's Xnview 64 colours samples. PS - I achieved similar results using a Dennis Lee reduction colour algorithm using an 8bf plugin. I think old Corel's result is the best. PS2 - There is...

I guess it's a truecolour bitmap. Try using LZW+Predictor or ZIP (deflate) compression instead.

Minor bug creating multipage file
Hello.
When creating a PDF file and the source files are in an usb thumb drive you can actually SAFELY EXTRACT the drive in the middle of the process. The source files should be locked by XnView.

A workaround would be getting XPDF and then extracting all bitmaps from PDF using PDFimages and then converting them back to PNG with XnView.

Re: PNGs: Half decoded
Firefox 14.0.1 cannot display them either. Are you sure they are valid?
Are they coming from a mobile device? They don't seem official PNGs.
Irfanview cannot open them. PSP X3 can't either.
PNGOut complains about not being standard/unsupported.

Re: True-Color GIF
Agreed. And in the case you need animation you could use APNG format.
PS. To loop the loop, I used Google's WEBP lossless codec and it compressed to 10,7 KB.
