Some confusion? :) There are two types of thumbnail images 1) within the browser (showing images in a folder as small thumbnails / tiles) there is a bigger thumbnail of currently selected image shown in the lower left (can be moved) 2) when pressing F11 in the browser, the currently selected image i...

Re: Win 7 64bit: Unable to register for USB events (scanner etc)
Pierre, I tried, does not work as normal user, even with restart, does work when XnView has been started as admin, no restart required, checkbox is not checked. Again an issue with Win7 where users shall be informed their action will only succeed when they're admin...

Win 7 64bit: Unable to register for USB events (scanner etc)
On Win 7 Home Premium German 64bit, I can't register XnView as application for USB events (press F12, system integration, checking "add XnView as app to USB events" is forgotten instantly). Even when started as administrator. Solution via editing registry documented in http://newsgroup.xnview.com/vi...

Re: How to define xnview as default program for scanner button
Thanks :) I tried a little....with success :-) Registry keys and comments describing the procedure below: ; Add XnView as application that can be chosen for USB scanner event. ; First, try the default ways to do: Start XnView, press F12, system integration, check "add XnView as app to USB events" an...

Re: How to define xnview as default program for scanner button
How about Win 7 Home premium with 64bit? Am I the only one who can't set XnView as default application for scan button? And yes, XnView is installed as application using setup. way 1: XnView 1.97.2, F12, System integration, "add XnView as app to USB events" can be set but is forgotten instantly, so ...

Re: Win7 64bit: Avoid loosing settings!
Perhaps on Vista/7 the only choice must be 'User' Yes, it makes sense and is easier to implement :) In the UI it's easy - disable the other options. On startup, if INI file contains windows or XnView folder (e.g. because it's a restored old INI or user did manually edit it), tell the user it is not...

Win7 64bit: Observation + Registry Export
Hi, I reinstalled Win 7 DE 64bit Home Premium (I had the RC whose lifetime ends soon). Hence, I reinstalled XnView. Installation worked fine. .ini etc were copied to C:\Users\MYUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\XnView which is fine. I overwrote the ini with my old ini from Win XP, after which it is important...

Re: [1.19.4] Browser forgets "Show files in subfolders"
So 'Show files in subfolder' saved in .ini or not? Oops, misunderstanding - I don't care about persisting the mode across closing & restarting XnView (what .ini does), but I care to persist pit within one browsing session: Turn on "subfolders", double click an image to see it bigger, then return to...

Re: Options-Browser-Icon Info: Add "no GPS"
What do you see from GeoSetter in XnView? For me, XnView needs not to add detailed functions for geotagging of photos - it's a very special use case with according, good software for it. As XnView / XnViewMP has a focus on organizing and browsing photos, those functions shall be improved by inspira...
