Any way to see video/audio attributes in XnViewMP 0.86?

Post by cadu »

Hi,

The snapshot below is from ACDSee, which provides information about video/audio attributes (e.g. length, frame rate, channels).
XnViewMP 0.86 can read and preview all types of video/audio I tried so far.
However, I could see in XnView attributes just to images, but not to audio/video files. I mean, specific attributes as those listed by ACDSee for audio/video.
Is there any way to see those specific video/audio attributes in XnView?

Thanks for info!

What a great news. Thanks for implementing that Pierre!

By the way, another functionality that could improve a lot video/audio handling in XnViewMP is to "add autoplay button in the player bar", as described in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=60&t=34513&p=143582#p137096

Hi.
I checked Beta 0.91 and I couldn't see anything related to video/audio attributes.
I checked the columns in the browser and the metadata info in "view" settings (https://i.imgur.com/etNmqna.png).
Where are video/audio attributes supposed to be found/accessed?
Thanks!

Hi Pierre.

Now I could see the video/audio info!

Since there are very few attributes being showed for video/audio currently, I would suggest more useful information be added in XnView. Would it be possible?

Based on information showed by MediaInfo (https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo), these are my suggestions:

AUDIO:
xnviewmp_2018-07-03_14-39-10.png

VIDEO (since audio is included in video files, I also suggest XnView to show audio info when video is selected):

Thanks!!!

Hi Pierre,
Thanks a lot for improving shown attributes in info pane of v0.91 beta 3!!!
The new functionality makes XnView a powerful Digital Asset Management for content creators.
I tested beta 3 and there are two points I would like to comment on/suggest further:

a) For video files, after you expand the video/audio info, when you change files that are diverse on having/having not video+audio, the video/audio info is collapsed automatically. Is it possible to force already expanded video/audio info to keep expanded when navigating these files?
I recorded my screen showing the issue: http://bit.ly/2LoHrW3

b) Since the info pane now provides all important information about video/audio attributes, I would suggest you make the most important info also available in the STATUS bar, same way it already shows metadata for image files. Please, see the images below in which I simulate XnView status bar showing metadata in a similar way that MediaInfo basic view shows. Would it be possible?

Thank you very much!
Carlos
