Small, unmaximizable Windows/Dialogs - Why?

There are small modal dialogs in the program which should be maximized because otherwise the working area is too small and anyway these dialogs are modal and hence the area around them is wasted.
What it is worse is that, besides this annoyance, the „Maximize” button is missing.
These dialogs which need to be maximized from beginning and have a „Maximize” button are:
Must have (mandatory)
Spilt Image(s) (otherwise the preview is way too small)
Contact Sheet (otherwise the preview is way too small)
Print (otherwise the preview is way too small)
Nice to have (highly recommended)
Multi-page file
