Request: Add tagged files to categories.

Post by Nelson »

Is there any way to add multiple tagged files to categories?

I suppose to drag and drop the tagged files to categories to add, but I failed.

I think this is a useful function that XnView misses, would you consider to add it?

Not easy. If you have tagged files, so the drag&drop must use these files instead of selected files, right?

Maybe XnView first supports this via the dialog approach to category assignments I mentioned here...?

With drag and drop to come later... or not at all?

Right.

But what I don't understand is:
Since you can copy/move the tagged files instead of selected files, why can't this feature be implemented?

What do you think if it works like that:
* if we have only tagged files, drag&drop works on tagged files
* if we have only selected files, drag&drop works on selected files
* if we have tagged & selected files, drag&drop check if the drag item is in tagged or selected files
Pierre.

Good :p

Do you mean to move both tagged and selected files?
If so, that would be a good idea.
But under what circumstance does user have to both tag and select files?

No, only drag tagged files if the dragged item is in dragged list, and the same for selected...

OK, this would also be a good alternative.
