I'm a bit against this, given how much XnView crashes/hangs from thumbnailing a folder of movies now. Until that part is fixed, we shouldn't do any more.
It's not a codec issue, since all the folder of movies come from 1 camera, and it only crashes halfway thru.

I think there must be something wrong on your side, as I can get xnview to thumbnail the 900 odd camcorder clips I have without any crashes. The clips run the gamut of codecs, mov, dixv, xvid, wmv, realmedia, avi of sizes from couple of meg to a gig. No crashes. Once thumbnailed the first time they take under a minute to load in xnview. Maybe worth checking if it is the same file or type of file that is causing xnview to crash as some of the codec's I have used in the past have caused that.

So no crashes here, I would just love to have more than one frame so I can remember what I shot in each of them. I don;t understand why it is possible on video sharing websites with their collections and not with a local application. And no this is not a nag to Pierre, as he is already doing as much work as he can on xnview, to keep the photo features fresh. I am just suprised no-one else has brought out an app that shows more than one frame for local videos.

Just for people who may have been interested. ACDSee have added a system like this (see below). And before you ask, why not just use ACDSEE yourself, it can't handle thumb nailing as many media types as XNView.... You can select the amount of frames to be extracted and the amount of colons and rows they are displayed in.

Just wish I could find a program that deals with local video content thumbnails the way megavideo.com does with it's video thumbnails. That would be nirvana for identifying what a video contains....
