Possibly an icon is needed for both "Theme" and "Web Capture" found in the Browser mode of XnView MP

Right, ok,

Could you make those rectangles more into circles + also a colored version...Currently that preview reminds me a little of an Microsoft Excel bar graph :P

Hmm...I read this; http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.p ... =90#p89353

I was hoping for a colored icon in 24x24 like "Spotlight", "Multipage" etc..So that I could optionally place the icon-snapshot on/off tool on the toolbar. :) I don't know though, am I wrong?

No.

I meant like "spotlight" and "multipage" and others you have recently designed I thought that icon-snapshot was going to be 24x24 toolbar icon too (as I originally hoped).

nothing personal about that here.

I don't see reason why it should be colored - this icon for turn on/off specific view mode like checkbox.

Right, ok if you must insist on the non-color...then ok :) ...will there be a 24x24 of this same icon?

I think it makes sense for groups of buttons related to the same functions to share a common theme... in this case the monochromicity (is that word?) seems particularly appropriate. It makes them stand out very clearly from the rest of the buttons.

Hmm, for grouping several toolbar buttons seperators can be used by default and by the user. And there are specific symbols on them (e.g. image, arrows) which make clear that the toolbar buttons belong to a specific functional area (e.g. rotating, ...). Using colour (or monochromacity in this case) for grouping buttons is a bit unusual, I think. Currently, the above blueish buttons (thumbs, tree, preview, info, and new tab) stand a bit out and look more like belonging to a different theme than the Mezich theme.

We have the default toolbar icon demopage, but could someone (Pierre?) please post a screenshot with the new buttons in action?

IMO it's perfectly legitimate to have a subset of icons which are mezich-esque, but with a slight twist.

cmd_snapshot, cmd_thumbsView, cmd_treePane, cmd_showPreview, cmd_showInfo and cmd_emptyImage (= “New Tab”) are related commands for toggling UI elements.

I totally agree Helmut, I too don't much like this dark-blue-ish color scheme for the 'view mode' icons and feel it does not fit in with the (excellent) overall Mezich toolbar theme... It's partly the reason why I support a colored "Icon Snapshot" icon.

So Instead of the dark blue-ish common 'view mode' icons, why not consider Mezich just using the existing gradient-based scheme which is already seen on the "next page"/"prev page", "Multipage/ Start/stop ani" icons of the demopage. So I mean alter color scheme like this:
Image

...So that it would better fit into the entire toolbar theme, like this:

Right, for a colored "Icon Snapshot" icon, I created this un-neat mock-up just as an idea:

here was part of my inspiration for the snapshot icon mock-up:
