Much easier Copy picture by dragging in Gallery View

Post by pstein »

Assume I am in Gallery View with directory tree on the left and thunbnail gallery on the right pane.

Now I want to copy one (or more) of the pictures on the right to another directory on the left.

Ok, I could right click, then select "copy" from the context menu, then mark the target directory on the left, then again right click and then finally select "paste" from the context menu.

That is by far too many steps necessary to accomplish the task.

XnView should offer a copy operation similar to Windows Explorer:

Just drag one or more picture (with pressed right mouse button) from the right side to the target directory on the left.
When releasing the right mouse button a context menu should appear offering either "copy here" or "move here".

This behaviour corresponding to Windows Explorer would avoid confusing between different copy/move handling in Windows Explorer and XnView.

Could you add this to the next release of XnView?

Thank you
Peter
