Option to suppress scrollbar (non-fullscreen)?

Hi,

is it somehow possible (or desired by someone else) to say
"i dont want scrollbars if picture is larger than window"
(not being in fullscreen mode) ?
Navigation method in this case could be the arrow keys.

Maybe that is a speedup measure ?

Currently, surpressing scrollbars in Normal view mode is not possible.

I can imagine that it might make sense for some people (larger visible area without scrollbar), but how would you tell whether you can scroll an image if there is no scrollbar? Perhaps a symbol in the statusbar?

I understand that point (mainly that there is no indication that an
image had been 'truncated').
On the other hand i felt that the approach described is quite good,
For instance acdsee behaves so, and the reaction on Arrow-Up/Down her is very fast (simply try);
so basically it is possible, and as told; it should be an option.

I thought about why the current behaviour did irritate me.
Correcting myself i came to the conclusion that at "Fit image to desktop, all"
- if an image (we're speaking about quite large ones) is in progess to be
built, temporarily a scrollbar may scroll down;
- however if the image has been shown and it is not too large, finally there
is no scrollbar shown (if not necessary)
Those temporary scrollbar painting events where in fact nothing is to scroll
lead to the feeling of a certain flicker.
Of course only if one
a) pages quickly through the images with the viewer (maybe searching an image)
and
b) does not has a superfast machine (maybe i'm antique with my 650 mhz pc?)

Are those temporarily scrollbar paint actions really necessary?

Priority is low; more important in my eyes is the manner in which
"Fit image to window heignt" or "Fit image to desktop, all" are working,
as described in another thread (summary: images dont stretch accordingly
to the window size in those modes).

I would also like to see this option added. When I'm flipping through a bunch of images, the scrollbars can be distracting.

For the same reason, an option to toggle the menu bar display on/off via a hotkey would be great.

BTW, kudos to XnView. As a longtime ACDSee v2.3 user, I never found anything else that was faster and worked better for simple image viewing until the most recent versions of XnView. It does more yet the rendering speed is just awesome.
