Zoom lock on/off by default option

Post by Moorg »

Right now, zoom lock is OFF by default (when entering the application). In order to turn it on, the user must click the item in the context menu or use the shortcut.

I think having it ON by default would be more useful, and would really like an option in the Viewer settings that sets the initial value of the Zoom Lock. This would also not bother those who are happy with zoom lock being off by default.

Im' not sure that ON by default is good, but perhaps saving this setting???

Ah, I much prefer it to be off by default! Perhaps an option to set initial behaviour?

I like this idea of remembering previous "Zoom lock" setting... without having to add an option for it (+Default OFF on a fresh install).

Remembering the previous setting is a great idea.
I would be very happy with either this, or an option to set the default zoom lock state.

Implemented in View (windowed&fullscreen) in 1.90 beta 1.

Should probably be implemented in Browser fullscreen as well. More opinions?

Not the ratio

 Pierre

:) Hello !

• In ß-1, the state of the command is saved through the sessions, but not the current zoom ratio when closing XnView (after the Loock Zoom has been set “ON”)… ???

Yes, both fs. modes should be the same.

hm, is this a bug:
i have by default "fit to width, only large pics".
i go to the view mode,
i choose "fit to width",
i lock zoom,
go to the next pic via arrow,
-> it is set to "no fit"??

Could the zoom lock also lock the position ?
I am often trying to use this feature to compare something in two pictures that are very alike. You then want to see the same position. Do you guys use Lock Zoom in the same way or for something different ?

+1 for this. And this should work in both full screen modes. It's waaaay to confusing having two different full screen modes, they really should behave identically.

Posting to an old thread, but it is the exact topic I am wanting to comment on...

Yes PLEASE, fix xnview to retain the set zoom and/or fit to settings across close/opens.

Every picture I open, I have to zoom in. Arghhhh. This seems so obvious that it should be retained.

Begging. Please. If you don't think that is good as a default for everybody, make it an option we can set. I'd like to be able to set "Fit to width" or a zoom percent.
