Crash in LBMNG.DLL

Hello,
Some users have a crash in LIBMNG.DLL at the startup.
Who has the same problem? On which system?
(You can remove this file to fix the problem)

I have that crash.. My System is Win98 SE...Error comes up 4 times...then program seems to run normally. Here is the error information I get:

I have the same problem with version 1.66 french on Windows ME

I have the same problem with W98SE and XnView 1.66 English.

What functionality is lost if this file is removed?
