I would like to make an animated graphic from JPG files. Since these are photos, what I have read suggests that the appropriate target format would be APNG, because its color palette is larger than that of GIF.
It is not clear to me whether XnView (or XnView MP for that matter) support(s) creating APNG (or even animated GIF) files. Under "Info - Supported Formats", the entry "Portable Network Graphics" says "Yes" for both read and write and lists both .png and .apng file extensions, but posts on this board and elsewhere on the internet (e.g. viewtopic.php?f=38&t=35623&p=142635&hilit=apng#p142635) give the impression that support for .apng in XnView is read-only, and I have found nothing in the User Guide (https://www.xnview.com/wiki/index.php/X ... User_Guide) about creating APNG files. The "Overview of Functions" (https://www.xnview.com/wiki/index.php/O ... _Functions) mentions support for GIF, but I didn't find it in the list under "Info - Supported Formats" in XnView 2.44.
Can I create an APNG (or even an animated GIF) with XnView?
If so, how?
