First XnView does not take over association of files with the .jpeg extension (with the "e"). Secondly, once I manually set the association, if I open a .jpeg file by double-clicking it, XnView will open but not show the image. If I open the file from within XnView using File -> Open then the image will show properly.
Although it is trivial to rename .jpeg files to .jpg, I find the existing behavior rather unusual.
BTW I am using XnView 2.05 on Windows 8.1.
2.05: XnView: .jpeg vs .jpg

Re: XnView: .jpeg vs .jpg
I'd also expect that JPG and JPEG work exactly the same way. So I second your request for a unified behaviour.

Re: 2.05: XnView: .jpeg vs .jpg
With XnView 2.10, .jpeg files now open normally. However you still have to manually set XnView as the default application for it. It would be nice .jpeg was included as a viable file-type for XnView.

Same problem in version 2.22. Please fix it.
Edit: Fixed in 2.33. Thanks.
