[2.22] Creating PDF with non-std filenames

Post by eL_PuSHeR »

Hello.

Some days ago while creating a PDF file some of the source JPEG filenames had got Spanish characters in them. They were 10 source files. The resulting PDF file was 7 pages only. XnView had just skipped those 3 files with special characters in its filename (vowels with "tilde" - á é í ó ú). Is this a known issue? is it an Unicode issue?

There is an open request to add multi-page PDF output as a batch convertion option in XnViewMP and XnConvert, which support Unicode and are also cross-platform... :D

Thanks for the replies, gentlemen. Yes I am aware XnViewMP supports Unicode, but I will stick to XnView classic until the MP version is mature.

Well, when output to a multi-page PDF is added to XnViewMP you could use it to create your PDFs with Spanish characters, and continue using XnView 'Classic' for everything else...

Not for single image files to a multipage PDF output file, or am I missing something?

In Batch convert?

Single image input files to a multi-page output file was part of m.Th's recent request.

If not currently supported that would be a very useful addition...

And no equivalent in XnViewMP to XnView Classic's Tools > Multipage file > Create either?

So currently no way to create a multipage file from files with Unicode characters in XnView or XnViewMP... :(

In XnView Classic? Sure, but not to create from files with Unicode characters... :(

In XnViewMP?

Not in the Tools menu, and I don't see it anywhere else...

Thanks! :D

In XnViewMP and XnView Classic in the browser menu (which does seem logical... ) but in XnViewMP not also in the editor.

So eL_PuSHeR could use XnViewMP now to create multi-page PDF files from images with Spanish characters in the file names, and continue using XnView Classic for everything else...

I think it's easier to rename those filenames first, instead of using two software.
