XnView creates restricted folder names in windows

Post by weiv » Thu Oct 30, 2014 1:03 am

I created a folder in XnView and gave it a name 'con'. Turned out this is one of the restricted folder/file name in windows and XnView cannot open it. If you try to delete it, Windows will prompt an error saying the folder cannot be found.

The only way you can delete that folder is to open up the CMD console and remove it with special cmd (http://java.ittoolbox.com/groups/techni ... der-848496)

Please fix this problem so people don't accidentally create restricted folder names.

list of restricted names,
CON, PRN, AUX, CLOCK$, NUL, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8, COM9, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, LPT4, LPT5, LPT6, LPT7, LPT8, and LPT9
