"\Device\Harddisk2\DR2" is the shared folder?? you have only this error when double clicking on windows explorer to open XnView, right?
As described above, double clicking on a picture file associated with XnView in Win Explorer is what STARTS the error going
(file can be NAS or memory card areas assigned to a letter in Win explorer).
After the first one there may be 4 to more than 60 errors kicked up without any input from me.
Please look at my detailed description above (Sat Mar 03, 2018 11:14 pm)

Not sure what you mean by "Mode when starting", but the lower half of the General tab has:
"Launch Browser at Startup" ticked with Startup Directory=Last Used
and
"Maximise XNview at Startup" ticked, and the "Mode when starting with a file" drop-down box is "Normal"

If you mean General>Keyboard/Mouse>Switching modes
then:
Double-click=Browser<>Viewer
Mid mouse click=Browser<>Fullscreen / Viewer <> Fullscreen
Enter to switch between = Browser <> Viewer

I haven't the faintest idea, I have not tried to set up any such; the only time I ever see that path is via your error message.
It is something generic that was also seen by the OP.
Where would your program pick up that variable from to put in the message?
