⚡ Any emoji in filenames produce an error ⚠️

Post by happyman »

When I am trying to open any image from Windows Explorer (XnView default viewer for images also the same result if I am trying to use the option 'Open With' with choosing XnView from the list of installed programs) that has any of emoji symbols in the filename XnView produce an error like that:
xnview_emoji_error.png
xnview_emoji_error.png (6.05 KiB) Viewed 2341 times
I have the latest version on XnView which is 2.49.3 (May 15, 2020)
Also inside XnView file manager if you are going to the folder that has images with emoji symbols XnView doesn't show them at all.
I have to rename them in Windows Explorer, for example, to be able to see them in XnView.

Yeah, XnView MP can read Unicode characters without any problem, but I am not using it, I like the Classic one. Any plans to add Unicode support in it?
