The LAST 2 'good' requests for 'Recent Files'

Post by budz45 »

Hi again,

1. I think a tickbox option, to simply truncate file path's (however long) in the 'Recent Files' menu. This would be nice.

I mean look at the current length of menu that a long file path creates (mp 0.31):

...and then now look just below at how old Xnview win 1.96.1, totally truncate's the file path (\...\), only displaying the filename:

This should be for MP too but If not a tickbox option in the settings then perhaps make it default feature, however, most users might like seeing the file path displayed so that was my reason for suggesting a tickbox option (settings>interface>recent files).

2. It would be nice to see a greyed-out message named 'None' or 'Empty' - for when there is no 'Recent Files' to show. Like this:

(not to mind Paint.NET, many other apps that use a 'recent files' feature have this but I just used Paint.NET's 'none' example)

These have to be the last request I make concerning 'recent files', I promise :)
