Its slower when unchecking 'launch browser at startup' and starting
with associated jpg as well. I'm not using any cache or read ahead
options. I normally start with browser though. I suppose its just
updating a file list there also.

When 'don't start browser thumbnail' is checked, auto-refresh does not work.

A repeatable way to crash to desktop (similar to others):
1. Set selection size to 20x15.
2. Drag cursor to where it appears to go off-screen (a little or much).
3. Perform lossless crop.
