General topic for help with translation of XnView Classic

Post by helmut »

There's a topic for help with translation of XnView MP, I think the same is needed for XnView Classic.

Here you can ask general questions like "In which screen can I find label xy?", for example.

XnView 2.00

Post by helmut »

In XnView V2.00 there's a bunch of new strings. For a good translation, it's good to know in which context the strings are used. Below please find the list of new strings and where you can find them:

#define TXT_BrowseMenu_Export_files "Export files..." Browser | "Create >"
#define TXT_BrowseMenu_Import_files "Import files..." Browser | "Create >"
#define TXT_Config_Window_File_Associations "Windows file associations..." Tools > Options | System integration > Associations
#define TXT_Slide_SavePlaylist "Save Playlist..." Browser | Create > Slideshow
#define TXT_TemplateMenu_WidthCm "Width (cm)"Place holder, e.g. used in Tools > Options | View > Fullscreen | Show information | Insert >>
#define TXT_TemplateMenu_HeightCm "Height (cm)"Place holder, e.g. used in Tools > Options | View > Fullscreen | Show information | Insert >>
#define TXT_Option_32bits_Remove_alpha "Remove alpha channel if output format doesn't support it" Tools > Options | General > Read/Write
#define TXT_NviewMenu_Fit_Image_To_Window_Width_Large_Only "Fit image to window width, large only" View mode | View > Auto Image size
#define TXT_NviewMenu_Fit_Image_To_Window_Height_Large_Only "Fit image to window height, large only" View mode | View > Auto Image size
#define TXT_String_Fit_Image_To_Window_Width_Large "Fit image to window width, large only" View mode | View > Auto Image size
#define TXT_String_Fit_Image_To_Window_Height_Large "Fit image to window height, large only" View mode | View > Auto Image size

#define TXT_String_App_Description "XnView is a fast multi-format graphics browser, viewer, and converter. It reads more than 500 file formats." ???
#define TXT_String_App_Name "XnView for Windows" ???

#define TXT_NviewMenu_OtherApps "Other Apps..." Info >
#define TXT_OtherAppsTitle "Other Apps" Info > Other Apps (Dialog title)

@Pierre (and others):
- Two strings are marked with ???. Where and how can one find them?
- What is the difference between the strings TXT_String_Fit_Image_To_Window_Width_Large and TXT_String_Fit_Image_To_Window_Height_Large?

That's clear. Actually I meant:
TXT_NviewMenu_Fit_Image_To_Window_Width_Large_Only
TXT_String_Fit_Image_To_Window_Width_Large
