two questions - add to image size and hls example

Post by BabaG »

if i have a folder full of 1024x768 images and want to add enough black
to the left side of each image to pad it out to be 1280x768, could someone
please post an example of what the nconvert command would look like
to accomplish this?

in other words, i want to keep the 1024x768 image and add 256x768 of
black to the left side, thereby increasing the overall image to 1280x768.

also, i tried to play with the -hls parameters but couldn't get it to work.
could someone please post an example for the syntax of this command?

thanks,
BabaG

looks like the padding can be done with canvas option.

xnview lets one define the canvas background color.
is there no way to do this in nconvert? will it default to
black? white?

still looking for syntax on hls option.

thanks,

perfect! thanks, pierre.

how about a syntax example for hue, lightness, saturation?
the one time i tried to use it i got an error.

thanks again,
BabaG

ps,

i'm using the 4.98 linux version and it seems to be loading
cr2 files correctly. there may be an issue with the exposure,
for want of a better word. the images i've loaded are brighter
than the originals as seen on my xp box in xnview. i can't give
any more detail as i'm bogged down in something else at the
moment. will post again when i know better what's up with this
and whether it's a real issue or not.
