Many possibilites: use a levels adjustment, brightness, contrast or possibly simply convert the image to black and white...

Probably easiest to experiment in a [Windows if you use Windows] program such as XnView Classic or 'MP to find the best settings.

You have the NConvert help file, do you?

Are you able to experiment in a [Windows] program to more easily find which adjustment(s) and setting produce a satisfactory result?

Suggestion: Try a levels adjustment first...

Alternatively, can you upload an example file?
