As per this posting- http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=21754 I was hoping to try XnConvert to allow me to complate a task in one pass that currently needs two steps in XnView- scaling and renaming a batch of files.
Observations-
XnConvert does not seem to be compatible with existing XnView script files. Although it offers to open ".xbs" files, if I load my existing simple 2-step XnView script file, no transformations are shown in XnConvert.
The transformations that worked in XnView produce different results in XnConvert (see image below) if I set up the same sequence in the XvConvert UI. The aim is to take a list of incoming images of any size and fit them, undistorted in the centre of a 1024x576 black canvas.
Perhaps XnConvert script command are not expected to be compatible with XnView. In which case-
It would be useful if the program gave a useful error message, or even better offered to upgrade XnView scripts to the XnConvert syntax.
Option naming etc. in the UI needs some work. I have been fiddling with this for a while but I haven't worked out how to set up XnConvert to achieve the desired result as it doesn't seem to have the same options for expanding a canvas without resizing the image at the same time.

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

And yes, currently no way to load xbs script, i'll add the support...
Script import compatibility would be great, thanks. I don't understand the other point though.
If "Resize fit" behaves differently now, how can I find out what sequence of commands I need to use in XnConvert to achieve the "fit a scaled image in the centre of a fixed-size canvas" result?

I'll fix it...
Ok great thanks. In the previous posting I wasn't sure if you were saying this was a bug, or whether I was just using XnConvert incorrectly.
