How to use the search filter?

Post by vommie »

Hi

I love that little filter field in the toolbar of XnViewMP. But I would like to learn how to use it's full power. Is there a documentation about it?

Especially I am interested in RegEx, wildcards, syntax stuff. And I want to know if it's possible to include special characters like (squared) brackets to filter files named with those chars. Or to make use of case sensitivity.

I site:-googled this forum and website but didn't found any informations about the realtime-filter of XnViewMP. :?:

Hi,

Thanks for the link & informations

questions about it :

1) To search with 2 different world via a OR : " Julien|Ami "
But don't find how the same but with a AND ?
2) The caractere é is never find on a IPTC field ( & also xnview database)
For exemple, i have the Tag " Léo "
(But can find it on a filename)
3) Don't work on XMP tag ?

Hello Pierre,

The link to QRegEx does not seem to work. Has it been moved, or is there another source of information to understand how to use RegEx in Search ?
Concrete example I would like to know how to solve : Find all file NOT being .jpg ?
