Custom design for Thumbnail tag boxes
May i suggest an improvement be made to the tag boxes on files?
1st of all, I find them small and hard to see if tagged or not. How about a colored square above a thumbnail (only when tagged) ?
wait a minute, if they are PNG images, can I change them myself?

Hi orbspider (o:
- Download XnViewMP-051-win.zip.
- Extract \XnViewMP\UI\icons\extra.png from the downloaded archive.
- Edit the checkbox icons in extra.png to your liking.
- Put the edited file in the \UI\icons\ subfolder of your XnViewMP installation.
- Tell me if it worked.

Re: Thumbnail tag boxes
Hi,
well there wasn't exactly a sub-dir of any sort in UI/ just icons, same as the Linux UI/ directory (just got arrow icons and checkbox icons for categories I think.)

Re: Thumbnail tag boxes
The name of the file has to be extra.png and the dimensions have to be 195×13 pixels.orbspider wrote:what files names do the icons need?
You're not supposed to crop extra.png or save the checkbox icons as separate files.

Re: Thumbnail tag boxes
Correctomundo. Upon start-up, XnViewMP looks for a file named extra.png in the \UI\icons\ folder and extracts the first 13² pixels to be used as the icon for the activated checkbox of tagged files.orbspider wrote:but how does xnview app take out the part of the png for display? it must work by taking pixels of the png ??
Let me give you an example:

I'm at my wits' end )-:
It definitely worked that way in v0.51 for Windows. Perhaps Pierre has changed something since then? We''ll have to wait and see what he says.

Re: Thumbnail tag boxes
Yes, I forgot to upload it.
I just filled the icon areas with color and exported it to png (using GIMP)
