I view files in "Details" mode and have the option to "Scan file headers" set to "Never" as I find the scanning annoying when I open a folder with a large number of images. This means the Width and Height columns in the file list aren't populated when I first open a folder.
If an image is selected by single clicking on it, the file is read to generate a preview image and a lot of the image's meta data (including width and height) is displayed in the properties tab of the Info window, but the width and height fields in the Details view remain unpopulated.
Even opening an image (in a view tab) doesn't seem to update the image's properties in the Details view, but for some reason opening the image in Fullscreen mode directly from the file list does.
It seems sensible to me that simply selecting an image should be enough to update/populate that image's properties in the Details view since the meta data for the selected image will then be available.
Thanks for your attention.
