XnView Screenshots

For marketing, it's good and important to have a nice picture of your product. For an application like XnView it's the screenshots which should be good looking.

When seeing the personal screenshots in topic What does YOUR XnView look like?, an old idea/vision came back to my mind: Wouldn't it be cool to have various very good-looking screenshots of XnView with various themes?

These XnView screenshots would be used for marketing and could be downloaded by other download portals or people as examples of XnView.

Some ideas for themes:
- Sport
- Landscape
- Space
- Animals
- Women
- Movie
- Cartoon
- Fantasy
- Portraits (Family, Wedding, ...)

Mainly the screenshots would show the browser and the image view, just like the screenshots that we have, now, see Screenshot page on www.xnview.com.

The more or less hard part is the copyright aspect. The copyright of the photos used in the XnView screenshots have to be respected and must be legal. (For the current XnView screenshot I've used clipart of a professional graphic software and pictures of Dias dos Reis, who kindly gave me the permission.)

If you like this idea and think you can create a good looking screenshot of XnView of legal images, go for it and post it here. (For uploading images there's Image Shack for example, or contact me). As screenshot dimensions a maximum of 700x600 pixel would be good. On-screen language should be English.

Later, we would choose the best Screenshots (a poll?!) and would place them on the download server in various sizes and provide them for marketing, just like the current screenshot. Since Pierre is partly (or fully) responsible for the stuff he provides, it's essential and very important that the screenshots are legal, i.e. there is a written permission that images shown in the screenshot can be used. Only XnView screenshots with images with proven and clear copyright / permission will make it on the download server.

Comments, feedback, and ideas are welcome.

:D Hello !

• Please, could you give us the magic formula to make it appears here ?
- In usual English, this is so-called «a link» :P

 Kind regards,

Thank you for your screenshot, which is the first screenshot. I'm tempted to comment it, but I think we should not influence each other and vote once we have a couple of screenshots.
Just a small note: Path names like "D:\shit" should be avoided. ;-)

Thank you for changing this.

Some hint for further screenshots:
If possible screenshots should not exceed 800x600 and/or not have too many details. Keep in mind that screenshots might be sized down very much and still should look good and interesting. A sample:

Your screenshot does not look too colourful, but the skin used for the toolbar is exciting and appealing. :-)
