Recycle bin not working

Hello,

I cannot get the recycle bin to work in my XnView MP 0.86 64bits install on Ubuntu 16.04. Whether I activate the "Use recycle bin" option or not, my deleted photos do not end up in my trash (~/.local/share/trash/files) nor anywhere else. Same thing whether I delete in browser, view, or fullscreen.
The trash works fine if I just delete the photos through Files.

Any ideas?

Best,

Felix

I am having the same issue on Windows. Recycle bin does not work and has never worked even with previous versions.

But it does not work. Deleted files are gone and not put in recycle bin.

Hi! I know this is an old topic, but I'd like to let you know that in 2018 I'm still experiencing the bug described above with XnView MP 0.90 64bit version on Windows 10 Professional.

When I manually delete a picture (I press the CANC key), after confirmation the picture doesn't go to the recycle bin, although I checked "use recycle bin" in program settings and my Windows 10 Recycle bin settings look fine.

Any suggestion?

P.S.
thanks for this great piece of software!

I am having this problem too:
XnView MP Windows
Version 0.93 64bits
Deleted items don't show up in recycle bin even though the option is checked.

Files are definitively deleted?

Seems to work fine, but is necessary to MANUALLY REFRESH recycle bin in order to find the files deleted from XnViewMP.

XnView MP Windows
Version 0.95 64bits (Jan 15 2020)

I have the same problem on xnview mp Version 1.4.1 64bits (Jan 13 2023) and I already had it on previous versions.
OS is Linux Mint.

Refreshing the recycle bin, as mentioned above, unfortunately does not work.

I tried to uncross the recyle bin and restart xnview, then cross again the recyle bin, restart again and sometimes after that procession it worked, but not for long.

What can I do?

Greetings
Rainer

Could you describe the problem?

I meant the same Problem the users above have:

If a photo is deleted, it does NOT appear in the recyle bin and so it cannot be restored, if needed. The option "Delete in recycle bin" IS crossed.

Could this possibly be a rights problem, that XnView MP run in a Linux Mint user account isn't able to write to the Rubbish bin?

Above my 'pay grade' but here is my Mint 20 Cinnamon default Trash Properties:

A stupid question, maybe?
