It has happened already 5 times in the last week. I drag and drop several images to Photoshop or other application. Suddenly the operation is interrupted and I end losing my files in a random folder. The reason is I have the folder tree of XnView between the thumbnails and Photoshop. When the operation is interrupted is interpreted by XnView I want to drop them in the folder I hover in that moment.
I don't know why the operation is interrupted, perhaps because Xnview is making thumbnails and they take priority but this is simply a guess. Because I'm never sure where they have been dropped I need to search all folders. Sometimes I don't even notice it has happened and the files are lost.
I don't have that problem with file managers as explorer or Total Commander and I don't think I release the mouse button too early.
Drag&drop files to external apps can end in random folders

With any application. The problem appears when the mouse point has not yet left the Xnview window and is hovering over his file tree.
Even it has happened several times last week I guess could be difficult to reproduce in purpose.

yes
which os?
Windows 10
I think this is linked to when Xnview is generating lots of thumbnails or heavy thumbnails.

if the thumbnails are built, are you able to reproduce?vicsharx wrote: I think this is linked to when Xnview is generating lots of thumbnails or heavy thumbnails.

Re: Drag&drop files to external apps can end in random folders
When thumbnails are done everything is perfect.
The workaround then is simply to open the folder in XnVIew MP and leave the program alone doing the thumbnails, as if it was doing a render that can not be interrupted. Once done is OK, until the next new files appear.
