0.97.1 Canvas resize background color Alpha is ignored?

Post by hexaae »

XnView: MP 0.97.1 - 64 bit/64 bit
OS: Windows 10 20H2 64bit

Canvas resize, background color Alpha is ignored...

Effect: program always uses Alpha 255 for background color

To reproduce:
1. Convert series a pic
2. add as Actions: Resize Canvas and choose a background color + alpha level (e.g alpha=0)

Image

Actual behaviour (bug): preview and final result will always be processed as Alpha=255 :bug:

Expected behaviour: preview and final conversion should use user defined color + alpha

you need to insert before 'canvas resize' a 'change color depth' 32bits

Removing the background from a picture is relatively easy if you upload it to a site that does it fast and easy for you. Then, of course, you should look for a decent one since many of them are click baits. I don't even count the times that I have looked for a simple program like this and end up with sites asking for money, or the links are just a waste of time. If you are looking for a way to remove image background, then one of the best sources I can advise is BG remover. It's the only program that I was able to use without deteriorating the quality of the photo.
