Funny bug :D
I was reading this and tried myself with 0.83, there is even a shorter reproduce procedure I think:
1- Open an image from the Browser.
2- Close XnViewMP (assuming Save session in On)
3- Open XnViewMP again, the image opened before shows up.
4- Now open an image from Windows explorer (assuming the file type is assosiated with XnViewMP).
So don't open an image from within the Browser of XnViewMP because then it works like expected!!
5- The image double clicked in Windows explorer shows up, and indeed the image opened before from the saved session is opened a second time.

But, the funny thing is, in my case also a second Browser tab is opened. I never knew how to do that :D

Right, HanVroon, this problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.84 beta 1. Could you please try and confirm the bug fix, yanpol?
