XnConvert ini file

Post by cday »

XnConvert -- unlike XnView Classic and XnViewMP -- does not provide an option to select a preferred ini file location...

Unless there is a technical reason for not providing the option, perhaps it is something that might usefully be added to the Settings tab?

More seriously, the zip version does not contain an ini file, which seems like an anomaly for a self-contained version...

When the application is run on Windows 7 an ini file is created in the Users... folder.

Yes it's the standard. But you can move the .ini into the XnConvert if you want

Yes it's very true what cday is saying

I previously started a same topic on this same issue too; http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.p ... 96&p=94691

Please Pierre, if you could address this issue by adding a blank .ini file to the program's folder within the ZIP for readiness of portable users. Otherwise if not then simply add a prompt window that would show on first use of XnConvert; the prompt (similar to XnViewMP's file association tool) would simply give the user the choice on which folder would like to store their settings.

Could you add a prompt dialog on first run of app to allow us to specify where to store ini ? It would be better
