.ECW File convert

Post by chs »

Hello,

I need to convert .ECW files to .jpg or .tif.
With XNView (and the .ecw plugin), thats no Problem.
With XNConvert, i cannot open .ecw files.

I've tried to copy the xnview .ecw plugin files to the xnconvert plugin Folder.
But this doesn't help.

Is it possible to convert .ecw files to graphic Format (jpg/tif) with XNConvert?

Thanks for your help/answer!

Confirmed: It's not possible to convert ECW.ecw (Aerial_Photography_Sample1.zip « Getmapping) with the 32-bit edition of XnConvert v1.65 for Windows and the ECW I/O plug-in for Enhanced Compression Wavelet (ER Mapper format).

Code: Select all

X:\ECW.ecw 0x0x0 : not a picture

Input files: 1
Extracted pages: 0

Total Duration: 0 second(s)

Hi,

Thanks for your quick answer!

I'm using the 64bit edition on Windows 7 64-bit.
I thought it would work, because in the description of XNConvert (on the website) is decsribed, that XNConvert "uses the batch processing module of XnView"

Are there any plans to make this work?

I don't know. We have to wait for Pierre (the developer of XnView, XnViewMP, XnConvert etc.).
As of now, there are only 32-bit versions of the I/O plug-ins available which are not compatible with MP 64-bit.

BTW: XnConvert “uses the batch processing module of XnViewMP” (Multi Platform).

Oh yes, i've misinterpreted and didn't read the product "correct" :?

And thanks for the hint, that the plugins work only in the 32bit version.
I will do some tests and report the result.

Test done.
I can open .ecw files with the 32-bit Edition.
Thanks for the hint.

What i have done:
- Install XNConvert 32-bit Edition
- Copy ECW Plugin files into plug-in Folder.

Now, i can open/add .ecw files to the file list.

I will do some more tests, to see how it works on Windows 7 64-bit.

I've just installed the Win 32bit version on Ubuntu using Wine and saved the .dll files (see posting #2) in the "plugins" folder. Unfortunately XnConvert says my ecw files are no image files :?
