When XnConvert is opened and configured to use the Input tab Hot folder option, the Convert button remains greyed out unless a file is loaded on the Input tab.
Expected operation is that after specifying one or more hot folders, the Convert button is active, enabling the Hot folder option to be used independently.
Tested XnView 1.98.
Hot folders -- Convert button only active when a file loaded on the Input tab

I don't understand, the convert process starts automatically, no need to click on convert button

Ok, but not sufficiently obvious?
It seems logical that operation should only start when Convert is clicked.
Perhaps for consistency monitoring should only start after clicking on Convert...

Re: Hot folders -- Convert button only active when a file loaded on the Input tab
yeah.. state of 'Hot folders' mode definitely is not representative enough
there are few ways to show active state (I will use xnview UI as example):
ps. also 'Hot folders...' checkbox shall be disabled by default
there are few ways to show active state (I will use xnview UI as example):
- if tool runs in background (not our case)
- tray icon
- show some indication in app (eg in titlebar)
- enabled Conver button
I would expect mode activation via pressing Convert button (maybe change name to Run/Watch when checkbox checked)
- if tool stays open
- show some indication in titlebar (eg add 'Hot folders')
- disable manual input controls
there is no reason to mix manual and automatic modes
- disable Convert button
guess its fine to have it that way as checkbox do the same thing, but I'm OK with Convert/Run changing to Stop as well

I will be posting some thoughts and a suggested solution when I have time.
