Also you might have to rebuild thumbnails if xnview has already captured bad ones. I all ways try to test a new folder or refresh the thumb cache.
If this isn't solved I would post in the classic thread and we can help their.

As for xnviewMp I'm leaning towards a conflict between quicktime and K-lite, but won't say for sure 100%.

Maybe when Pierre chimes back in he'll have more ideas.
Your problem is really not normal.

In XnView MP 0.78, you have no thumbnails for video files?
In XnView Classic, you have thumbnails for video files except MTS/MOV?

In XnView MP 0.78, I have no thumbnails for any video files, and the video files also aren't included in the list view. It's as if they don't exist.
In XnView Classic, I have picture thumbnails for avi files. For mov/mts/mp4, I have the thumbnail labels, but the images are blank.

Thanks...

Very strange, i use the same function for XnView Classic and XnView MP.
Is it the x64bits version?

Yes, both are 64 bit. Well, I appreciate that you've tried to help, but it seems we've both hit an impasse. I'm going to give up on this one.... Fortunately for me, I have a CC subscription and can use Bridge to view all my files. I've been using XnView for years and loved it, but must go down a different road now. Best wishes to you, I really liked your software!

Do you have klite? Do you have quicktime or alternative quicktime?

Hey! I uninstalled and reinstalled XnViewMP and now it's working!!!! Maybe I should have installed the klite codec pack before installing XnView? But anyway, it works now and I'm so happy!!!!!!

Hi, Pierre!

I had a similar issue on my system and could solve it. The symptoms here were:

My system:
Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit
QuickTime installed
No K-lite installed

XnView 2.34:
Thumbnails & viewing AVI Videos OK
No Thumbnails for MOV files (QuickTime), but viewing works. Rebuilding thumbnails, modifying thumbnail settings ... nothing could make it work.

XnView MP 0.78 64Bit:
Thumbnails & Playback of AVI Videos OK
Thumbnails for MOV files OK (QuickTime), but screen remains empty when trying to view the files.

I finally stumbled across my QuickTime saying it's 32 Bit. Et voilá: XnView MP 0.78 32 Bit works on MOV files (Thumbnails + viewing OK).

So it seems to be an 32Bit/64Bit issue.

Hi everyone,

Alltough this is an old topic, I had the same problem right now and in my case the solution was very simple:
It was just a "missing checkbox tick".
Go to Settings -> Browser -> File liste -> Custom Filter and check if the "Show as Thumbnail" checkbox in the "Video" row is checked.
In my case it was not, and after enabling this option everything worked fine.
Hope it helps someone.

Best,
Andreas
