Xnview Slow to write IPTC data

Greetings,

I've been using XnView MP Version 0.89 64bits (Jan 15 2018) on Linux Mint 8.2., Mate 64-bit, with 6 GB of RAM on an i3 Intel processor.

And while I've have been very happy with the software and its features, the only issues that I have is the speed of writing IPTC data to image(s).

5 or 50 images, its does not matter.

It takes from 5 minutes to more than 15 minutes plus to write IPTC data to multiple files/images

Question:

Why? and If there is something that I can do to speed up there process?

on JPEG? Only IPTC, no XMP?

Yes, only on JPEGs. Understand that IPTC are only written to jpg file. No XMP!
