Disable Alpha channels in psd on the Preview?

Post by eliio »

I can disable Alpha for thumbnails (Settings —> Thumbnail, uncheck "Use alpha channel"; Update catalog from files), but not on the Preview.
Is it possible?

Hi Elisei (-:

You can deactivate Use alpha channel (Ctrl+H) In the context menu of the preview pane, but this setting doesn't stick across sessions. The bug should be fixed in v0.91, tho.

Cool, thank you!
Is there a similar option for full screen preview?

Disable Alpha channels in PSDs in the Preview and Fullscreen views

Post by donpin »

Hi XnView
This bug has returned.

If there are any extra channels in a PSD (after RGB,R,G,B) then the fifth channel is applied and that is all that shows in the Thumbnail, Preview & Fullscreen views.

I can fix the Thumbnail by XnView>Settings>Thumbnail and unticking "Thumbnail use Alpha Channel", but Preview and Fullscreen views are both still clipped by the fifth alpha channel. If I delete the fifth Alpha channel, they are clipped by the previous sixth Alpha Channel as it shifts into fifth place and so on.

The XnView>Settings>Read option, "Fix Alpha Channel" makes no difference to the Preview or Fullscreen image, ticked or unticked.

The only way to currently fix the Preview and Fullscreen images is to delete all other channels beyond the RGB, R, G, B Channels or by somehow knowing to press Ctrl H and toggle the correct effect of the fifth Channel off and on.

Can we please have a setting, presumably the "Fix Alpha Channel" that actually displays images in Preview and Fullscreen correctly.
