Donation

Post by mrwul »

After installing the latest version of XnViewMP I am puzzled about your donation website.

When clicking on 'Make a donation' (immediately after installing v0.93) I ended up in MyCommerce where I needed to pay for XnConvert 2x ??
Is this correct?
I thought it was via Paypal and users to set their own amount?

How about PayPal.Me, Pierre?

It seems to be a bit difficult to make a donation at all...
One has to search on the forum how to do it and the provided link in thread "Donation"
where Pierre said "I've now an account on PayPal for donation" still doesn't work.

viewtopic.php?f=35&t=13543&hilit=paypal

In that thread Helmut provided a workaround

"
A temporary workaround is:
1.) Login to Paypal
2.) Click on "Send money"
3.) Specify Image as recipient.
4.) Enter amount
5.) Select purpose "Service"
6.) As subject specify "XnView donation"

That was 1,5 year ago...
Wonder how people have been donating. in the meantime.
(A bit difficult to imagine that people would be checking out XnView Classic forum, search for 'donation' and then find above workaround)

Anyway, let's wait for Pierre's reply.

Later
1. launch XnView
2. Go to Help > click "Make a donation"
3. Click on Paypal button

all goes fine from there.

Thank you, mrwul :-)

The interface design could possibly be made clearer, for example:

Replace --> Select with PayPay -- Click on above icon

Dear all,

this week I had to organize my photos on Ubuntu 20. I tried darktable and shotwell and realized that they are quite complicated to use, some are slow and on my system shotwell forgot the directories I imported day before. I tried xnviewmp and at the moment it seems to be perfect, its fast, easy to use, looks nice and has a lot functions.

So I decided to donate some money, but the only two options available is paypal (i dont have) and credit card. As you probably resides in France it would make sense to allow IBAN money transfer. What do you think? I dont like services i dont know and i dont trust like mycommerce where I have to enter a lot of data. I would prefer direct bank transfer.

thanks a lot
Peter
