How to display user defined details under 'Properties'?

Post by mrwul »

XnViewMP v0.93 x64

Under Settings->View->Tab: Info, I have defined a number of items.

I wonder:
a. where they are supposed to show up, i.e. how to have them displayed
b. whether it is possible to have the same details displayed when opening a file, then r-click on 'properties'.

Many thanks indeed!

Ahum ...

Have to confess: I never used this, simply because I wasn't aware of it.
I know, I know ... it is a shame.
Instead, I always went into properties, then selected the ExifTool-tab to view the details.
Drawback: I had to do for each separate photo, i.e. it is a bit difficult to compare photos shot with different settings.

Meanwhile, do you know whether it is possible to add 'ExifTool->Makernotes' fields?

Sorry, I don't think your request has been implemented yet.

Please give this workaround a try:
  1. Go to ViewLayoutFilm strip 1.
  2. Go to ViewFullscreen.
  3. Move the mouse cursor to right edge of your screen to make the info panel slide into view.
  4. Click on the Auto hide button to make the info panel stick.

Thank you. Nice indeed!
That worked fine.
Wish this could also be done when using another layout.
Often I double click on an image to open XnViewMP, then I click on [Next] to view the next file and so on.
To accomplish your suggestion, one has to go into 'browser' mode of XnView.
After launching XnViewMP by double clicking an image, the click on Browse (below file)
Then create this layout, etc.

Meanwhile when selecting, browse->view->layout 2
then increase the thumbnail to maximum size and have ExifTool on right, then collapse everything, except maker-notes (see screenshot)
when selecting the next file, it resets ExifTool and expand Exiftool, File, Exif again.
In 'your option' when collapsing everything, except Maker-notes, then that view will stick when going to the next.

The attached view would my 'desired' view when doubleclicking a file (i.e. not needing to go to browse)
