My workflow is like following. I'm using Directory Opus exlorer for all my basic tasks, and launch all images from there.
1) i click on an image in a folder with thousands of images
2) the viewer opens and i scroll through the images
3) while viewing, i move or copy images to another folder, preferentially with one mouse click (the target folder changes often)
I have two issues with XNView i can't seem to find a workaround for:
A) The image folders can be sorted by file name or file date initially (i have different defaults for different folders). I can't find how to change the sort order in the XN viewer. And it's not practical to switch to browser mode for changing the sort order, because that would mean i'd do this hundreds of times in a single day. I there any shortcut i'm missing here?
B) It looks like XNView asks every time when i want to move or copy an image. Is it possible to set the path and copy/move with one single shortcut?
How to change "Sort By" quickly while in image viewer?

(Edit later : it seems that I did not really understand the question: did you want to change sort order within viewer mode ?)
View > Sort by > Show headers ... With one click on a header, files are sorted.
If you want to change headers (move or delete or add some) , use View > View as > Details
Then you can move headers with drag and drop or right click.
And set back View > View as > Thumbnails + labels
B) I don't know
