ResizePreset.txt into xnview.ini-Setup
Using xnviewmp Version 0.98.1 64bits (Jan 20 2021)
Setups over AppData\Roaming\XnViewMp\... for alle users
Files: xnview.ini + default.bar + bookmark.ini with "Activ Setup"
So far so good (thx to this all!)
Customized ResizePreset.txt and left only values for "%" and got some changes for xnview.ini: [ResizeDlg]...
Brilliant - I thought!
Dropped this new lines into the *ini and copied it on an other Client into AppData\Roaming\XnViewMp.
This wont change the settings.
Is there a flag in the INI that has to be set as well to change this settings?
Any other way to get this txt-setup from c:\ProgramFiles\XnViwMP\... into xnview.ini?
Slán!

Re: ResizePreset.txt into xnview.ini-Setup
Sorry but i don't understand, you use a custom ResizePreset.txt, that you copy on users data, and no change in XnViewMP?

Re: ResizePreset.txt into xnview.ini-Setup
Hi Pierre and thx for quick reply and sorry for my late reply...
Let me try to explane:
- the ResizePreset.txt is under "ProgramFiles" which I edit and only values for "%" are left in it.
- the setup that gets rolled out is: EXE plus AppData files (xnview.ini, bookmark.ini, foo.bar...*db, *key ...etc)
Befor rolling it out: the xnview.ini shows me the new ResizePreset.TXT-setup under [ResizeDlg].
Did a notepad++ compare to figure that out..
Problem: when rolling out to other USERS (EXE plus AppData files incl. the xnview.ini), they wont get the edited ResizePreset.txt cause its part/included in the xnview-EXE.
The new xnview.ini doesnt override the ResizePreset.txt - what I can understand - but I thought it would/could override the values in the GUI for resizing.
#1 --------------
Maybe there is (?)/there can be a path to "my new/own resize.txt" in the xnview.ini - like we manage thsis with the "foo.bar" do implement a shorter version of the defaut.bar. ...
#2 --------------
Just checking if it would be better to use "ProgramFiles" as the main and one and only folder for the whole setup, but not sure what that brings on the downside. The AppData-setup folder seems nicer just in case a second USER would login on the same pc...
.... and many thx in advance - stay save!

Re: ResizePreset.txt into xnview.ini-Setup
Hello Pierre,
Oh! Yes cool! So it would be possible to customice this module for all users.
ResizePreset.txt contains samples for "pixel" which could distort images.
So I left only values for "%" in this file - or I explained in our handout how MB size would work
Slán!

Why you don't modify the one in installation folder?Gerald_Ire wrote: ↑Mon Mar 08, 2021 1:20 pm Oh! Yes cool! So it would be possible to customice this module for all users.

Re: ResizePreset.txt into xnview.ini-Setup
Hi Pierre, I've got ya...
"installation folder" = ProgramFiles - right?
"configuration" = AppData/Roaming - so "the big plan"!
If we get a new XnViewMP-EXE (update), we will overwrite the modifieded ResizePreset.txt. Is that right?
Not sure - at the moment - if I can convince someone to export a "DIY-ResizePreset.txt" to the installation folder (ProgramFiles) as well.
That would be the easiest way - but this is not "the big plan" - unfortunallity
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q.:
- there is an option at the 1st setup / or under "systemintegration" (key F12) at the end of GUI setup
- you can chose a folder for configuration
- one is "other files" (last option)
Could "other files" include the ResizePreset.txt?
So there would be an option to keep/save it under "AppData/Roaming"... ?
Slán go fóill

Re: ResizePreset.txt into xnview.ini-Setup
Hi Pierre, sorry for the delay but I can confirm the new option "ResizePreset.txt" is part of the xnview.ini
if ResizePreset.txt is in AppData: XnViewMP 0.98.3 reads the value of the txt in they show up in GUI
if ResizePreset.txt IS NOT in AppData: XnViewMP 0.98.3 will setup the full list and shows it in GUI
So confirmed! Done! Brilliant!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I did a notepad++ compare of the old and new xnview.INI. Some values changed between true/false.
Will compare both GUI version what exactly changed but it works so far. Thx!
